About Me I am a retired librarian and I now support books and authors through my reviews.

I have always loved to read and I was able to share that love through my work as a public librarian for 22 1/2 years. I now promote literacy by reading, and then writing reviews. I love to support authors by sharing my reviews with others!

Proposing Mischief (The Joplin Chronicles, #2) by Regina Jennings

Proposing Mischief (The Joplin Chronicles, #2)
ABOUT THE BOOK

Maisie Kentworth is stuck on the ranch. Having fallen in love with the wrong guy, she can't risk inflaming things between her former beau and her protective family. Left to rue her mistakes, she keeps busy exploring the idle mine at the edge of their property.

Boone Bragg is also stuck. With his parents on vacation, the management of Bragg Mining falls on him, and one of his advisors wants him as a son-in-law. One wrong move, and Boone will end up either offending an associate or getting married to a woman he can't endure.

While closing up a spent mine, Boone gets two surprises. One is an untamed farm girl who's trespassing with a pickax, and the other is the amazing crystal cavern that she's discovered. Suddenly Boone sees a way to overhaul the family business. With part of the cavern on Kentworth land, Boone makes Maisie a proposal that he hopes will solve all of their problems. Instead it throws Joplin into chaos.

MY THOUGHTS.....

Maisie Kentworth and Boone Bragg think that marrying each other is a way to solve their problems, but theirs will be a marriage of convenience, with no romance involved. Famous last words, right? What follows is a funny, laugh-out-loud story of two very unusual people who enter a business arrangement, proceed to being friends, and then, start to feel so much more! Along the way, they experience all kinds of mishaps, and I couldn't wait to see what was next for this unconventional pair!

Unforgettable characters, exciting adventure, and a sweet romance just waiting to happen...all of these make Proposing Mischief a book that I couldn't put down. Author Regina Jennings also shares a history lesson about the real Crystal Cave, a crystal-lined geode cave that was a popular tourist attraction from 1908-1930, and is still lying under the streets of Joplin, Missouri!

This is the second book in The Joplin Chronicles series, and I can't wait to see what comes next. Jennings never fails to entertain, she always adds a powerful faith message, and she excels in writing romance! I highly recommend Proposing Mischief to all who enjoy historical Christian fiction.

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
