This isn't the first time that Wanda E. Brunstetter has written a book with other family members, but it's the first time that one of the authors is her daughter. Yes, Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach shares a short story in this new Amish book, Sisters by the Sea, along with her mother Wanda, her sister-in-law Jean, and her niece Richelle.
In a recent chat, Wanda Brunstetter was asked "if she collaborated and discussed ideas with the other authors, or did you each simply come up with your own story for the collection?"
This was her reply. "We did collaborate on ideas, although we each came up with our own storylines. We shared the character sketches we had created for our characters since the sisters were mentioned throughout each of our stories. We also shared the summary for each of our novellas and talked about how we would blend each story into the next.
In my earlier review of this book, I remarked that "I found it amazing that each author was able to write a tale that blended so well with the others," You can read my entire review of Sisters by the Sea HERE but I also wanted to shine a spotlight on each of the individual stories.
The Seashell Cake is the first story and it's written by Wanda E. Brunstetter.
Jean Brunstetter's contribution is The Beach Ball.
The third story is Fragments of a Sand Dollar by Richelle Brunstetter.
A Sarasota Summer completes the collection and it's written by Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach.
