Hidden in the Night (Missing in Alaska, #3) by Elizabeth Goddard

Hidden in the Night (Missing in Alaska, #3)
ABOUT THE BOOK

At the behest of her ailing mother, former FBI special agent turned rare-book collector Ivy Elliott arrives in Alaska to secure an unpublished Jack London manuscript kept secreted away for decades. But when she arrives, she learns the manuscript is gone--taken by the granddaughter of the woman who possessed it. Ivy sets off in pursuit, not just to save the manuscript but to save the vulnerable girl, who was previously trafficked and has no idea what she's getting herself into.

Joining forces with Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long, Ivy must battle a blizzard, sabotage, and the worst of an Alaskan winter as the search goes on. But every answer they find only raises more questions--and the danger to their lives and to the missing girl may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Don't miss this breathtaking race for truth set amid the glorious--and deadly--Glacier Bay from USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard.

MY THOUGHTS.....

Ivy Elliot returned to Alaska to search for a missing manuscript but there was so much more awaiting her, including a reunion with Alaskan State Trooper Nolan Long. They soon joined forces in a deadly race to find the manuscript and rescue a missing girl but their biggest challenge was to just STAY ALIVE!

A priceless unpublished manuscript. A missing girl. Human trafficking. Terrorists. This is romantic suspense at its best! The adventure, danger, and intrigue kept me turning the pages but the special connection between Ivy and Nolan was the icing on the cake! They both were plagued by guilt from their pasts but the biggest hurdle was how this Florida-loving Sunshine Girl could ever adapt to life with a Mountain Man in Alaska. He loved the cold as much as she loved the heat. Should they try or would they forever regret letting each other go?

This is the third book in the Missing in Alaska series but don't worry if you haven't read the first two. You can read it first and be completely engaged but reading it after the first two books provided me with a sense of completeness. I loved the reunion with Autumn, Grier, Trevor, and Carrie and I adored Ivy and Nolan's sweet but sizzling romance. My only dilemma? Should I read it non-stop to find the villain or take my time so that I could savor the magic?

I may never physically visit Alaska, but the words of author Elizabeth Goddard helped me imagine the biting cold temperatures, the danger of avalanches, and the beauty of the Northern Lights. Armchair travel, mind-boggling suspense, and a compelling story laced with love, trust, and forgiveness--- what more can a reader hope for? I loved Hidden in the Night and I recommend it to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
