A killer on a mission.
A murderous past that unearths an unexpected connection.
BAU Special Agent Hannah London’s troubled past reminds her that life is fragile. And hers has an expiration date that can’t be denied.
When the bottom drops out of Hannah’s world, and a killer ramps up his victim count, Hannah and fellow agent, Cooper Delaney are in a race against time to catch the killer. A bombshell revelation has Hannah and Cooper reeling after the killer’s cryptic messages seem to hint at a connection. . .to Hannah.
As Hannah’s feelings for Cooper deepen, her head tells her to end things before Cooper gets hurt. But her heart, the one that threatens to betray her, doesn’t want to walk away.
I've long been a fan of this author's Loved Inspired Suspense novels but this book takes her romantic suspense to a new level! The Last To Know centers around two FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit agents working to find a serial killer before he/she can strike again. Agents Hannah London and Cooper Delaney are both haunted by tragic pasts and this case is a painful reminder of the evil that they've seen!
This fascinating story is the second book in the Hallowed Halls series and author Mary Alford has never been better! I admit that I was a little disturbed by a serial murderer dubbed the Embalmer who may have inspired a copycat killer but Alford's details are never TOO gruesome. She also introduced me to the fascinating concept of cellular memories. Can transplant patients recall memories from their donor's life? Were Hannah's recurring nightmares rooted in traumatic events that her donor once experienced?
The Last To Know is filled with danger, intrigue, and multiple twists and turns, but there's also a sweet friends-to-more relationship waiting to be explored. Grab a copy of this book if you are looking for memorable characters, a thought-provoking plot, and compelling suspense that keeps you turning the pages!
I received a complimentary copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.
