A Place of Refuge by Marlayne Giron

A Place of Refuge
ABOUT THE BOOK

Rachel Winston returns home to Second Chance Inn too injured and weak to meet the needs of her guests. Samuel’s decision to marry her has resulted in his shunning and in the loss of support from his family and community.

Emma Lapp has returned home in desperation, only to be turned away by her parents. She is forced to abandon her car and happens upon the sign for Second Chance Inn. Her timely appearance is a godsend to Rachel who takes a risk and welcomes her in. Hopeful that Rachel and Samuel will also help her friends, Emma summons Amos, Aaron and Abram to the Inn.

These dispossessed youth, outcasts from their family and community, find a new sense of belonging, hope and purpose. Second Chance Inn becomes much more than just a means to an end, it has transformed into A Place of Refuge.

MY THOUGHTS.....

Second Chance Inn. What better place for a young Amish girl to find refuge after her parents shut their door in her face? Second Chance Inn. Could it become a place for others who no longer have a home? Author Marlayne Giron shares a story filled with powerful emotions in her new book, A Place of Refuge. There is heartache from being shunned by family and the heartbreak of hearing a devastating medical prognosis but there are also heartwarming acts of kindness, acceptance, and friendship!

I love this sequel to Second Chance Inn because Giron's intriguing plot isn't all "sunshine and roses"! Her well-developed characters experience real-life situations, and they react the way most of us would. There's disappointment, despair, and even anger but...faith and hope help them prevail!

I couldn't stop reading this intriguing story and I can't wait for another armchair adventure in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. If you enjoy romance, second chances, and cliffhanger endings, grab a copy of A Place of Refuge.

I received a complimentary from the publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
