MY THOUGHTS.....

Rebuilding Joy is the second book in the RenoVations series, and it's every bit as enjoyable as the first. I love that both books are set in western Kentucky, in the small fictional town of Clementville, and that geographical and historical facts are mentioned throughout the story. Fellow Kentuckians will recognize the town of Marion, the Kentucky State Penitentiary at Eddyville, Bowling Green and Western Kentucky University, and the role that the Ohio River played in the Underground Railroad.

Author Regina Rudd Merrick revisits characters that we fell in love with in Heart Restoration, and introduces us to more members of the Reno family. Del Reno and Darcy Sloan have known each other for several years, but this story allows them to explore a different relationship. Along with their tentative romance, there are mysterious happenings, underground tunnels, and big crime activities that threaten this small Kentucky town. This story has it all: history, mystery, and lots of romantic chemistry, in an appealing plot filled with great characters and a strong faith message.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rebuilding Joy, and I'm hoping that there will be more books in this series. I recommend it to all who enjoy contemporary Christian romance.
