MY THOUGHTS.....
This is a perfect story for all who enjoy well-developed characters, page-turning suspense, and the grandeur of the snowy Rocky Mountains. From the beginning, I was instantly engaged in Julia Steven's fragile emotions after finding a dying man in a small Colorado town. Fear and guilt had been her constant companions since her sister's death, but investigating this mysterious discovery might prove to be her undoing. Would she find protection after becoming the target of a local meth ring?
I loved the deepening romantic awareness between Julia and her protector, former DEA agent Cade Hawkins, but they both carried emotional baggage. Could Julia overcome her fear and guilt over her sister's death? Would Cade be able to give up his need for total control? Was fully trusting in God the key to individual happiness, and perhaps a future together?
High Exposure is an impressive debut novel from author Kelly Borjas! Romantic Christian suspense is one of my favorite genres, and discovering a talented new author is always exciting. I look forward to reading the next book in the Jagged Edges series.
