About Me I am a retired librarian and I now support books and authors through my reviews.

I have always loved to read and I was able to share that love through my work as a public librarian for 22 1/2 years. I now promote literacy by reading, and then writing reviews. I love to support authors by sharing my reviews with others!

Your Father God is ever-present, even in the deepest valleys, and His hope is available to those who seek it. This book will encourage and inspire through any circumstance when you allow your heart to be transformed as you apply God’s truth in real-life situations. As you consider questions for further thought, you’ll be drawn deeper into the heart of God.

This lovely book is perfect for personal use or as a heartfelt gift for a friend going through hard times.

MY THOUGHTS.....

"Have you ever felt as though the waves of life are crashing over you?" is a question that author Julie Rayburn asks in the introduction to this new book and she then offers suggestions about dealing with these overwhelming waves. Peace in the Storms of Life is a beautiful devotional to help us as we deal with our everyday challenges and Rayburn has chosen some very special Bible scriptures to offer comfort and guidance during the storms of life. In each of the 125 devotionals she shares a verse, an inspirational story, and a question that prompts us to look deeper into God's Word.

Peace in the Storms of Life is a small hardback book that easily fits into a purse and the cover and illustrated pages are some of the prettiest that I've ever seen. Its beauty will lift your spirits and the content will encourage you in your efforts to grow closer to God.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Julie Rayburn is a Christian author and speaker. Her passion is to encourage and inspire the application of biblical truth. Her last book, Be Still and Know: 365 Days of Hope and Encouragement for Women, was inspired by a journal that her mother kept the last year of her life. Peace in the Storms of Life was birthed from Julie’s own life experiences. Jesus was the calm in the center of her storms. As she called to Him from the depths of her soul, He answered.
These books of devotionals are the spiritual insights she gleaned as she clung to biblical truth and listened to the Lord. She hopes that her readers will experience the peace that passes all understanding as they meditate on God’s Word in the storms of life. Julie has served as teaching director and area director for Community Bible Study (CBS).
Currently, she and her husband, Scott, are serving as CBS ambassadors to Nepal. She is also on the CBS Board of Trustees. Julie is a retired surgical orthopedic nurse. She enjoys tennis, golf, and gardening. Scott and Julie have two grown children and four grandchildren. They reside in the Atlanta area.
As a surgical nurse, Julie went on a medical mission trip to Guyana, South America. The impact of that mission trip was a catalyst that God used to spark her writing career. Julie co-authored six devotional books with Barbour Publishing before writing Be Still and Know and Peace in the Storms of Life.
