Covert Cover-Up (Mount Shasta Secrets) by Elizabeth Goddard

Covert Cover-Up

ABOUT THE BOOK

Rescuing a neighbor

lands her in a killer’s sights…

Private investigator Katelyn Bradley rushes to help when she suspects a burglary at her neighbor Beck Goodwin’s house—and arrives just in time to save him. The widowed dad is convinced the attack is linked to his wife’s mysterious death, and now Katelyn is a target, too. Trapped in someone’s crosshairs, can Beck and Katelyn uncover his late wife’s lethal secrets…and keep each other alive?

MY THOUGHTS.....

Katelyn Bradley is a good private investigator but she tends to focus on the "private" and prefers to work alone. This can be a problem when your family is involved in law enforcement and you are prone to take risks! Beck Goodwin is clearly a marked man but it's unclear just why. He suspects that his late wife may have been a victim of evil but was she also unfaithful to their marriage vows? Katelyn steps in to help him figure it out, but will her aid come too late? Are Beck and his young son Ollie in extreme danger?

Some of the characters from Deadly Evidence, the first book in the Mount Shasta Secrets series, make appearances in Covert Cover-Up, but this is a book that can easily be read alone. Katelyn and Beck are both intriguing characters who've both been hurt by past relationships and I enjoyed seeing how they work to overcome them. Is it possible for two damaged people to find a happy future? Can it be together?

Non-ending action, intense danger, and an intriguing mystery make this a book that you won't want to put down and there is also a light faith element that offers inspiration. Covert Cover-Up is another entertaining story from Elizabeth Goddard and I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian romantic suspense.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own opinions.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
