About Me I am a retired librarian and I now support books and authors through my reviews.

I have always loved to read and I was able to share that love through my work as a public librarian for 22 1/2 years. I now promote literacy by reading, and then writing reviews. I love to support authors by sharing my reviews with others!

Heart Restoration (Mosaic Collection) by Regina Rudd Merrick

Heart Restoration (Mosaic Collection) (RenoVations Book 1)

ABOUT THE BOOK

For interior designer Lisa Reno things go from bad to worse when her contractor-brother falls off a ladder and breaks his leg. Now she has to deal with the past coming back to haunt her, an old house with a corpse in the creepy cellar, and her best friend trying her best to fix her up with any man that moves.

Nick Woodward is willing to do his old college roommate a favor – especially since it involves renovating his own inheritance. The last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone. When he lost his wife and unborn child so suddenly, he had made the decision to keep God and everyone else at arm’s length.

So far, so good.

Ah, the difference a trip to a dingy basement makes.

MY THOUGHTS.....

"After the previous evening, the last thing she wanted was to feel awkward, but she supposed she would feel awkward until the day she died."

Lisa Reno is my kind of gal! She knows she can be a klutz but she still keeps trying. She believes that her long-time secret crush on her brother's best friend will never be reciprocated but she still carries a spark of hope. Best of all, Lisa is a Christian with a sense of humor who loves kittens, old houses, and her family, so I think that we could easily be friends!

I love that this story by author Regina Rudd Merrick is set in Crittenden County and it makes me want to take a road trip to western Kentucky. I enjoyed Lisa and Nick Woodward's renewed connection as they work together to restore his grandparents's home and the many adventures that await them. Secret tunnels, two unidentified corpses, and a long-lost journal? Not your usual fixer-upper project!

Merrick offers readers history, mystery, and lots of romantic chemistry in this appealing story filled with great characters and a strong faith message. I recommend Heart Restoration to all who enjoy contemporary Christian fiction and I look forward to the next RenoVations novel.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and the Mosaic Collection. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own opinions.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
