MY THOUGHTS.....
Do you crave specific foods when you're emotionally stressed or physically drained? These foods are known as comfort foods and many of us have them. Two that I instantly think of are the salmon patties and the homemade custard my mother used to prepare. In this cookbook, you'll find over 270 recipes that Amish and Mennonite cooks consider comfort foods. They include memorable beverages, main dishes, comforting soups, and indulgent desserts, and just reading the table of contents makes my mouth water!
I'm always eager to browse Wanda E. Brunstetter's cookbooks and this book is certainly one to keep! Yes, there are delicious recipes, but we can't overlook the inspirational thoughts, reflections, and selections from God's Word. I loved the spiral binding that allows it to lay flat on the counter, numerous indexes for ease of use, and beautiful photos of some of the finished dishes. Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Comfort Foods Cookbook is a great choice for cookbook collectors and it is also perfect for gift-giving!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
