PJ Time: 100 Devotions to Light Up the Night by Ela Smietanka

PJ Time: 100 Devotions to Light Up the NightABOUT THE BOOK

This delightful devotional for boys and girls ages 4-8 will give kids a fun way to close out the day. Each of the 100 bedtime devotions includes a fascinating topic that explores the wonders that happen at night: sleeping otters holding hands, the moon's glow, multiplying bubbles at bath time, and saying good night to God. Paired with the devotions are simple prayer starters that will help children learn to talk to God about their specific triumphs, struggles, and questions. Each entry includes cheerful illustrations and a final reflection on how to act out Jesus' love and truth. PJ Time is a wonderful way to help kids settle down in their favorite PJs, spend time with God, and fall asleep in His peace.

Snuggle up with your kids as they have fun, grow in their faith, and settle down for peaceful sleep knowing that God is always awake.

MY THOUGHTS.....

This is such a special book for your little ones because PJ Time has 100 devotions that are perfect for bedtime reading! Each devotion has Bible scripture, interesting facts about our world, and a question that offers a chance for further discussion, with text that is appropriate for children ages 4-8. This age group also loves pictures and the illustrations by Ela Smietanka are both fun and colorful. I especially like the Shine Your Light Into the Night section at the end of each devotion and I think that a small flashlight and a copy of this book would be a wonderful gift for the special children in your life.

Children need to know about God and His creation and I know that my six-year-old granddaughter is especially intrigued with the moon, stars, and lightning bugs in the summer! I am thrilled to have PJ Time so that we can share God's nighttime world together!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Ela Smietanka is a Polish illustrator. Her adventure with drawings started when she was a little girl. In order to make her dreams come true, she graduated from the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where she now lives with her husband, two sons, a cat named Zuzia, and some other cats from the neighbourhood. She is a freelancer. In her work she combines pencils, paints and Photoshop, happily discovering again and again new digital techniques. When she is preparing draft illustrations, she listens to audiobooks, and with a good novel she may work until dawn. In her free time, she likes to cycle listening to energetic music. If she were to choose a job other than an illustrator, she would be a dancer.
