Enjoy a trip into the Amish quilting tradition through beautiful full-color pictures by Richard Brunstetter. Taken in Amish communities and homes throughout the United States, his pictures offer a visual celebration of the quilting traditions of plain peoples, while author Wanda E. Brunstetter offers her insights into the roles quilts play in family life. Also included are tips for those who want to make their own heirloom quilts.
MY THOUGHTS.....
Amish Quilts is a stunning book that is a feast for both the eyes and mind. Best-selling Amish author Wanda E. Brunstetter has selected Bible scripture and Amish quotes to highlight the colorful pictures taken by her husband Richard Brunstetter, Sr., and I loved seeing the beautiful quilt patterns, reading the Bible scripture, and learning unique Amish wisdom. As a bonus, there are quilting tips that should prove useful to both novice and experienced quilters.
This is a wonderful book that satisfies our need to see beautiful things and our desire to grow spiritually and intellectually. You'll want a copy of Amish Quilts for yourself but it would also be a perfect Christmas gift!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Barbour Publishing but was under no obligation to post a review.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
