About Me I am a retired librarian and I now support books and authors through my reviews.

I have always loved to read and I was able to share that love through my work as a public librarian for 22 1/2 years. I now promote literacy by reading, and then writing reviews. I love to support authors by sharing my reviews with others!

Dear Sister, : Letters of Hope and Encouragement by Gisela Yohannan

Do you long to feel hope in the times of sorrow? In Dear Sister, Gisela Yohannan, describes the events in her life that have brought her joy and sorrow. Through this compilation of letters written over seven years, the wife of K.P. Yohannan encourages her spiritual sisters to find hope in the hard times and to encourage others as they may face challenging events in their lives. She shares the promise of new beginnings and hope in Jesus that will empower you to be a blessing to those around you.

Dear Sister, : Letters of Hope and Encouragement is a compilation of letters that author Gisela Yohannan wrote over a period of seven years, and they truly do offer hope and encouragement. She wrote these letters to the wives of pastors and missionaries, as a way to share her experiences, and the lessons she had learned, in her work with Gospel for Asia. Her letters were written from February, 1999 until June, 2005, and each one is a treasure trove of scripture and personal reflection. Now, as I read them, I can only imagine how vital and important they were to the recipients. I marvel at Yohannan's candor and her devout faith, and I myself am uplifted and strengthened by her beautiful words. Some letters are twenty years old, but they are proof of the mighty power of the written word, and the unlimited power of faith!

"Our influence as women is greater than we think. Even if we never do or say anything publicly, we still have enormous power to influence those around us for good or bad with our behavior, values, attitude and words. This is especially true in regard to our families."-- April 2005

This inspiring book is a perfect supplement to your devotion time. I recommend Dear Sister, : Letters of Hope and Encouragement to all who enjoy personal journals and Christian devotionals.
