Cave of Secrets by Shannon Redmon

Cave of SecretsABOUT THE BOOK

What she uncovers may get her killed…

When Carli Moore finds the body of Zain Wescott’s missing sister on her family’s ranch, Zain is convinced Carli’s brother is the murderer. But Carli’s sure Zain is wrong, and she’ll prove it—if the killer doesn’t take out both her and Zain first. Now they just have to live long enough to uncover the truth…and bring a murderer to justice.

MY THOUGHTS.....

Wow! This may be a debut novel but you'd never know it because author Shannon Redmon has successfully captured all of the elements of a good suspense novel. Questions, unknown villains,  miscommunication, plus lots of intrigue and danger! The questions begin on the very first page, when Carli Moore finds a swatch of pink material poking up from a pile of stones and  is immediately reminded of a tragedy that occurred two years earlier.  From then on, the uncertainty and heart-pounding action continue, until they culminate into an exciting "I didn't see that coming!" moment.

The cave mentioned in the title certainly holds many secrets and Carli realizes just how these unknown facts continue to haunt her. She is aided by Zain Westcott as she searches for answers and I wondered if their once strong friendship would experience further damage. Would the two friends who won a three-legged race during Bible School survive the threats against them? Could they find a path to truth and trust...together?

This book reminds us that our world continues to be a place where both good and bad exist but there is the assurance that goodness will prevail! This strong faith element and the sweet romance help make Cave of Secrets an appealing story and I certainly recommend it to all who enjoy Christian romantic suspense.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. A favorable review was not required and no compensation was received. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shannon Redmon remembers the first grown-up book she checked out from the neighborhood bookmobile. A Victoria Holt novel, with romance, intrigue, and ballroom parties, encouraged her desire to create inspiring stories. Her first novel, Cave of Secrets, is being published by Love Inspired Suspense. When she's not writing, you can find her spending time with her husband, two boys and little white dog in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

  1. Patti, you make this book sound so appealing and intriguing! You got me hooked from the first sentence and then on to completion of the blog. Yes, we're still in real life when reading but it's so nice to be 'taken for a ride' and it might as well be a good and sometimes suspenseful one. Thank you!
