Bruce the Spruce has long enjoyed Christmases with the same family, until he is replaced by a brand-new Christmas tree. Suddenly, his twenty years of service are over in an instant! Bruce experiences many feelings: sadness, disappointment, and even fear, as he finds himself out on the street, taken to another home for one short evening, and then left on the curb to face the garbage collector. Bruce had always felt special, but will he never again be the star of Christmas?
Children will love the rhyming text used to share Bruce's adventures, and they'll enjoy seeing the colorful illustrations that depict Bruce, his fantastic experiences, and his encounter with Rocky, the magnificent Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Author A. A. Crist uses their meeting to remind children what is truly important. "No matter what's on the outside, whether ordinary or fine. It's the joy we bring to others that makes us truly shine."
Bruce the Spruce is the perfect holiday book for families to read together, and it's also a wonderful teaching tool that would be a great addition to school libraries.

When she is not dreaming up fantastic adventures for inanimate objects, she is covering the Broadway industry as a journalist and editor at BroadwayWorld.com. Though writing is her calling, her true passion is playing mother to a neurotic wiener dog named Jack and Aunt Rah Rah to two truly remarkable kids.
