Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage, #2) by Elizabeth Goddard

Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage, #2)ABOUT THE BOOK

Criminal psychologist Erin Larson's dreams of a successful career come to a screeching halt when she nearly loses her own life in a boating accident on Puget Sound and then learns that her mother tried to commit suicide. She leaves her job as a criminal psychologist to care for her mother in Montana. At least she is able to produce her podcast, which focuses on solving missing persons cold cases.

Nathan Campbell's father was investigating such a case when he was shot, and now Nathan needs to enlist Erin's help to solve the case. She's good at what she does. The only problem? She's his ex.

As the two dig deeper, it becomes clear that they, too, are being targeted--and that the answers to their questions are buried deep within the past Erin struggles to explain and longs to forget.

The race is on for the truth in this gripping and complex tale of suspense, intrigue, and murder from USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard.

MY THOUGHTS.....

A criminal psychologist, a local detective, missing children, and a cold case investigation.... each time I read a book by Elizabeth Goddard, I think it's her best, but I believe that Deadly Target is TRULY her best yet! This story begins with an easy, soothing kayak ride down the Puget Sound but don't be fooled---this is the last easy, soothing scene you will encounter. Goddard transports readers into an electrifying adventure filled with danger, suspense, and numerous questions needing to be answered. Surprises, multiple twists-and-turns, and family secrets make this a book that I couldn't put down, and there's an unexpected development that I didn't see coming. There are also great characters, and I was especially drawn to Erin Larson and Nathan Campbell, two people who carry deep wounds from their youth and also share a painful romantic break-up. Will they become more than just two professionals caught up in a deadly cold case investigation?

Deadly Target is primarily set in Montana and even though it's the second book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series, it can easily be read as a standalone. Are you in the mood for a clean romance? Look no further. Searching for a thrilling suspense novel with a strong faith element? This is the book for you! I highly recommend Deadly Target and I look forward to the next book in this series!

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was absolutely no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
