MY THOUGHTS.....

I am always eager to increase my understanding of God's Word so I jumped at the chance to preview this book that focuses on the New Testament church following Jesus's Resurrection and Ascension. The Acts of the Apostles is the fifth book in the New Testament and there is much to be learned about the history of the early church. Author Marta E. Greenman has designed a comprehensive workbook /study guide to help us to learn more. Over the course of five days a week for eight weeks she guides our study by using questions, Bible scripture, and biographical information about Martin Luther and William Tyndale, along with historical facts about religion in the United States of America.

There is a statement on Day 1 of Week 3 of this book that especially resonated with me. Greenman writes that "The suppression of Christ may be more subtle today than in the days of Peter and John, but incrementally, day by day, Christian values are being suppressed." (p. 81). Today, Christians in the United States may not be jailed for speaking the name of Jesus, but they are often ridiculed on social media because of their beliefs. Who knows what the next decades have in store for believers?

ACTs420NOW is a wonderful choice If you are looking for a workbook that is structured, well-organized, and dedicated to increasing knowledge of God's Word. I especially like that there is ample space to write your answers and end notes for reference. I am using it for my personal bible study but I believe that it would also be a great resource for group studies.

I received a complmentary copy from Celebrate Lit but I was not obligated to write a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
