MY THOUGHTS.....
Frog's Rainy -Day Story and Other Fables is an attractive hardcover book with beautiful illustrations that both children and adults will enjoy. At the end of each of his eight tales, author Michael James Dowling offers two helpful sections: Wisdom of the World and Wisdom of the Word. This gives children the chance to compare quotes from our culture with Bible scripture from God's Word. Most of the text is written for readers in second to third grade but a glossary is included to help with higher-level words. I would suggest, however, that parents read this book with their children so that they can discuss the Biblical concepts together and explore the fun characters that have been created by illustrator Sarah Buell Dowling!
I am always eager to find suitable reading material for my six -year-old granddaughter and I recommend Frog's Rainy-Day Story and Other Fables to anyone looking for entertaining juvenile books that share life lessons and God's Word.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from BookCrash. A favorable review was not required. These are my honest thoughts.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
