MY THOUGHTS.....

"God's Word comes alive for people who have become students of the Word. The truth is, we won't actually have amazing experiences with God's Word until we do more than sunbathe on the beach: it's time to put on a wet suit and be willing to dive in."

These words remind us that we can never devote too much time to reading and studying God's Word and. in this new book, author Rebecca Friedlander offers tips and suggestions to help you to dive in for your own amazing experiences! Friedlander has certainly lived an exciting life, but she decided that she needed to deepen her faith journey, and she shares many of her experiences in The Divine Adventure: Spiritual Practices for a Modern Day Disciple. This book is both challenging and inspiring, and it's relevant for both new believers and seasoned Christians. There are 12 easy-to-read chapters filled with poetry, scripture, and the author's personal thoughts, with each chapter ending with 'Your Turn' and "Spiritual Practice', two sections that prompt you to reflect on your own personal walk.

Each chapter is filled with nuggets of wisdom that touch on topics such as prayer, forgiveness, obedience, meekness, and worship. The Divine Adventure is a wonderful resource and I recommend it to those who want to strengthen and enhance their own relationship with God. Pick up a copy, grab your highlighter or journal, and embark on your own divine adventure!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via BlogAbout Blogger Network. I was in no way obligated to write a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
