Strength in the Storm (Johns Mill Amish Romance #2) by Laurel Blount

Strength in the Storm (Johns Mill Amish Romance #2)
ABOUT THE BOOK

In this touching Amish romance, a brokenhearted woman and a steadfast man discover that the safest place to weather tragedy is in each other's arms.

After the murder of both her parents, Emma Hochstedler returns to the small community of Johns Mill, hoping to resume her quiet existence. Reclaiming her place proves harder than expected--especially now that a movie is being made about her family's loss. But then, an old friend offers her a lifeline that gives her new purpose.

Amish builder Samuel Christner is the biggest--and the strongest--man in town. In fact, the gentle giant has only one weakness--Emma. Even though she broke his heart, he won't let his childhood sweetheart face her troubles alone. He hires Emma as a nurse for his elderly aunt...and finds himself falling for her all over again.

But while romance blooms, storm clouds gather. And when darkness falls, it will take all Sam's strength--and all their love--to see them through.

MY THOUGHTS.....

As I read this emotional story, I kept wondering how I would feel and how I would react to the problems facing Emma Hochstedler and Samuel Christner. Would I be as grief-stricken, and feel as guilty, if my parents had been murdered? No, Emma wasn't responsible, but a disturbed Englischer's obsession with her had led to their deaths. Would I be as unsettled, as unsure, about my future? What if I had a chance to help someone that I had loved most of my life? Would I be like Sam, and do whatever I could, until.... I was dealt a blow that might forever change my own future. Would I be too broken, or too proud, to reach out to the love of my life?

Author Laurel Blount has written another powerful story about the people of Johns Mill, and the many storms that they experience. Strength in the Storm is a story of the heart---hearts that ache, hearts that break, and finally, hearts that are healed and restored. Faith, hope, and love are great healers, and Blount shows their effects on these hurting hearts!

Realistic characters, a wonderful setting, and a powerful faith message make this a story to remember. I recommend Strength in the Storm to all who enjoy Amish romance, and I look forward to reading more about the loving and supportive Johns Mill community.

I received a digital copy of this book from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
